At Call the Wolf, co-founders Ryan (Hawai'i) and Maricruz (Mexico) devise and implement strategy for measurable growth and long-term success in our four areas of expertise: tennis, education, hospitality, and culture.

Ryan: tennis pro/coach, Brown graduate, musician, educator, award-winning artist.

Ryan understands how strategy is the key to success in tennis and in the many disciplines he has mastered. He spent years on tennis courts - first as a competitive player, then coaching at the collegiate level. He knows what separates good programs from great ones: clarity of philosophy, disciplined execution, refusal to chase every trend. As a cellist, bassist, and jazz musician, he understands how mastery requires both technical precision and creative expression, and how to teach others to find that balance. After Brown, he became an award-winning artist and cultural critic, learning how creative work either cuts through or gets ignored. Then he co-founded an educational startup, discovering firsthand how mission-driven ventures fail when they can't articulate what makes them different.

Maricruz: hospitality strategist, digital operations specialist, and organizational consultant.

Maricruz can make anything happen because she's spent 25 years living, working, and building across four continents. She's drawn to exploration and analysis: understanding how people think, what makes design work, why certain websites feel right and others don't. Her background spans engineering, art, and psychology - disciplines that taught her how systems work, what beauty requires, and why people make the choices they do.

She brings hospitality strategy and digital operations expertise across global markets. She's organized large-scale events, managed social media for international institutions, handled complex systems, and led fundraising efforts. As a consultant, she's helped companies streamline operations and clarify strategy - discovering that most performance problems trace back to strategic confusion: unclear positioning, scattered focus, messaging that doesn't match reality. She's attracted to things that make sense. That's what she builds for others.

Together we help mission-driven businesses get strategically clear

We partnered because we kept seeing the same problem across our industries: talented people running great businesses that sounded completely generic. Tennis academies that couldn't explain their coaching philosophy. Hotels with beautiful properties and forgettable websites. Cultural institutions doing important work that no one understood. Education ventures solving real problems with messaging that put people to sleep.

We work exclusively in hospitality, tennis, education, and cultural institutions - because these are the industries we know from the inside.

Not from case studies, or research but from lived experience. We've been coaches, operators, founders, consultants. We know when positioning is sharp versus when it's wishful thinking. We know the difference between strategy that works and strategy that sounds impressive.

That insider knowledge and understanding of nuance is invisible to AI. It makes all the difference, and it's why we only work in industries where we've actually lived and worked.
